Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya chaired the 239th meeting of the Central Board of Trustees of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation in New Delhi, where the Board recommended an 8.25% annual interest rate on EPF accumulations for FY 2025-26. The CBT also approved a pilot project for auto-initiation of claim settlements in inoperative accounts with balances up to β‚Ή1,000, covering over 1.33 lakh accounts, and cleared a one-time Amnesty Scheme for exempted establishments to safeguard workers’ interests. Further, the Board approved notification of new EPF, EPS and EDLI Schemes, 2026 aligned with the Code on Social Security, 2020, a simplified SOP for EPF exemption, strengthened investment governance framework, and key administrative reforms aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency and member-centric service delivery.
