The Ministry of Labour and Employment, vide Notification No. G.S.R. 67(E), has issued the Draft Notification of the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Coal Mines) Regulations, 2026. The proposed regulations aim to prescribe comprehensive standards relating to occupational safety, health measures, welfare provisions, and working conditions for workers employed in coal mines across the country. Mine operators, employers, and other stakeholders are advised to carefully review the draft regulations to understand the proposed compliance requirements, safety obligations, and procedural norms.
