The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, vide No. Compliance/BKG-27/5/2021-BKG/e-38791/14066, has issued a circular announcing the discontinuation of the extended timeline for mandatory Aadhaar seeding with UAN for filing Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) for establishments in the North Eastern Region and certain specified categories. The relaxation will no longer apply beyond 31 October 2025, and Aadhaar-UAN seeding will be mandatory for ECR filing thereafter. Employers are advised to review the circular for detailed compliance requirements.
