Uttarakhand Allows 24x7 Opening of Shops and Establishments under 2017 Act

The Government of Uttarakhand, vide Notification No. s/VIII-1/26-32(Labour)/2016-TC, has permitted the opening of shops and establishments on a 24x7 basis under the Uttarakhand Shops and Establishment Act, 2017. The notification enables eligible establishments to operate round-the-clock, subject to compliance with statutory provisions relating to working hours, employee welfare, safety, weekly offs, and other labour law requirements. Employers are advised to review the notification carefully and ensure adherence to the prescribed conditions for 24x7 operations.
