The Ministry of Labour and Employment, vide S.O. 5322(E), has issued the notification for enforcing the Code on Wages, 2019 effective from 21st November 2025.

The Wage Code subsumes four existing wage-related legislations and introduces uniform concepts of minimum wage, floor wage, overtime calculations, and payment standards across all sectors. Employers must ensure alignment of wage structures with the new legal definitions.
