The Ministry of Labour and Employment has published FAQs on the Code on Social Security, 2020 on 9 January 2026 to facilitate effective and uniform implementation of the Code. The FAQs address practical issues related to registration, eligibility for benefits, maternity benefits, gratuity claims, rights of gig and platform workers, and compliance requirements. The document also clarifies procedures for digital and manual submission of claims, enforcement provisions, penalties, and governance of social security funds, thereby reducing ambiguity for employers, workers, and implementing authorities.
