Puducherry Notifies CPI Points for VDA Calculation FY 2025–26 | Minimum Wages Act

The Government of Puducherry, vide Order No. 1706/Lab/AIL/2025 dated 09 December 2025, has notified the Consumer Price Index (CPI) points for Industrial Workers to be considered for the calculation of Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948. The Order specifies the average CPI points for the financial years 2021–22 to 2025–26, which shall form the basis for determining the VDA payable to eligible employees in the Union Territory of Puducherry. Employers and establishments covered under the Act are advised to take note of the notified CPI points and ensure timely compliance with the revised VDA calculations.
