The Government of Bihar, vide S.O. 203, has issued the Notification of the Bihar Risk-Based Classification of Establishments (Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions) Scheme, 2026 under the Labour Code framework. The scheme introduces a risk-based classification approach for establishments to facilitate effective regulation, inspection, and compliance management relating to occupational safety, health, and working conditions. Employers, establishments, HR professionals, safety officers, and other stakeholders are advised to review the official notification to understand the classification criteria, applicable requirements, and compliance obligations under the newly notified scheme.
