Under Section 21(4) of the CLRA Act, the principal employer has been directed to make direct wage payments to affected workers and recover the amount from the contractorโs bills. The case also raises the possibility of blacklisting the contractor on the Nivesh Mitra portal, serving as a strong warning to employers and contractors regarding timely statutory payments and strict labour law compliance.
